Note from Sundara...I saw this and thought...drama! And you know what drama makes for? Show-stopper projects. The king of projects where, if there were a show called the Great British Knit-Off, you'd get a Hollywood Handshake and Prue would tell you your knitting is faultless. Apologies if you don't get the British Bake-Off reference, but trust me, you want faultless knitting and a Hollywood Handshake. It would validate every stitch you've ever made. You might even cry with joy.
And then there is the yarn. This is some pretty, pretty yarn. So much color going on in each skein and even more excitement and drama and show-stopping going on when you combine these three together in a project. So go imagine a world where the Great British Knit-Off is a thing, stop some shows, and Paul Hollywood shakes your hand.
"The Beginning of Blossoms" will not be dyed again. Each set includes 1 skein of each color.
Lace Silky Alpaca is 328 yards and 50 grams of 75% brushed baby suri alpaca and 25% mulberry silk.
8 stitches per inch on US 3/3.25mm needles.
Gently hand wash in tepid water for project longevity.

It's a combo of dark cherry reds and a deep, muted fuchsia - pretty much the color of the sky in the photo above the orange. It's not a color combination you see often, but it works well in this color. It should knit up oh so pretty; the two colors blending together to make something so much more than each as an individual. I hope some of you will try it out.

Visit product page →Note from Sundara...A few months ago, I said I wanted to do a "looser" interpretation of inspiration photos, and today is one of those days. I've loved this photo for years, but could never figure out how to dye it up as yarn. I've been looking for something that feels autumn-y, because apparently I'm over summer and summer colors, and this seemed to work. I may have gone a little overboard with veering into autumn.
The two fingering merino skeins were dyed exactly like the two skeins of lace silky alpaca, so if you've ever wanted to knit something coordinating with these yarns, now is your chance. The two darker colors are like a delicious black cherry. Or stormy clouds at sunset over flamingos, as the case may be. The browns are underlaid with flamingo pink, so they have all sorts of rich, saturated color going on that makes them much more fun and "glowy" than your average brown. The darker black-red goes amazing with the brown, if you want to pair them up, but the individual colors look smashing together on their own.

I saw this and, well, wouldn't this look fabulous wrapped around your neck as a little something-something or maybe thrown on as a comfy cardigan for chillier days? Don't we all need some neutrals in our lives?
If you are up for it, "Mossblossom" is an amazing new lace wrap by Wool & Pine that would be gorgeous in a neutral (2 skeins). If you aren't up for lace (and I don't blame you), " Mara" bu Audrey Borrego will also wind around your neck and is super chic. (1 skein). As for cardigans, I'm in love with "Noctua cardigan" by Orlane Sucche because it just looks so...knitterly.

Visit product page →Note from Sundara...This was actually inspired by a Hibiscus my daughter got me for mother's day. This photo is the closest I could get in color. It's a gorgeous flower and I chose it because it is one of those colors that is often overlooked, but actually looks beautiful on a huge range of people, as it flatters a range of skintones. So hopefully that will entice you and now I just have to convince you why sport is a fabulous gauge.
Seriously. You all ask for sport and then no one buys it. Which is crazy, because it is so versatile and there are so many projects. You can knit pretty much any fingering weight accessory out there on bigger needles using sport gauge and it will just be slightly bigger and cozier. AND! There are hundreds of amazing patterns out there for this weight yarn. I love the "River's Song" vest by Emma Ducher. Or the "Elisabeth Blouse" by PetiteKnits. Or "Poppy Tee" also by PetiteKnits. OR!! " Fjolla" by Isabell Kraemer. Also, "Mabel" by Isabell Kraemer. The "Lithium Shawl" by Annelie Thomasson is amazing, if you aren't up for a sweater. And the "Pacific Crest Trail" hat by Kay Hopkins, if you want a smaller project. So really, there is no excuse not to embrace sport as a gauge!!
