Note from Sundara...In my endless browsing of the Ravelry "what's hot now" patterns, I came across a cardigan called "Ranunculus" by Trine Bertelsen. It's adorable. A simple lace pattern in garter stitch with a scalloped neckline in fingering weight yarn. The only bad thing about it is the pattern won't be released until June 10. Although, I suppose in the glass-half-full way of looking at things, it gives you a chance to clear something off the needles while you wait.Assuming you choose to knit this pretty little sweater in this pretty little yarn.
I, of course, went searching for ranunculus photos and found these delicate beauties that (if you go look at the sweater) fit the feeling of the cardigan. You can't see it in the photo all that well, but I layered a creamy pale yellow (you can barely even call it yellow, it's more buttercream) underneath the pink, so you get the full effect of the color of petals in the yarn. And I chose high twist because not only is one of my favorites, I thought it would knit up well in a garter stitch lace pattern. Something about the texture of the yarn with the texture of the stitch will be interesting, I think.
So there you have it. Feel free to buy the yarn for something else, if you so choose. It's super pretty.
Romantically Ranunculus will not be dyed again. Three batches available. Yarn will ship next week.
