To all my lovely Canadian customers...
I plan to open a Sundara Yarn - Canada sometime in early 2018 (this changed from late 2017 due to a delay with my citizenship papers). When this happens, you'll be able to order Sundara Yarn in Canadian dollars and yarn will ship from Victoria, BC via Canada Post.
I won't be able to send yarn you have purchased on this website to you from Sundara Yarn Canada. Sundara Yarn Canada will have a separate website and will be a separate business from Sundara Yarn (U.S.). I'm simply letting you know about this as so you can make decisions on whether or not you want to purchase yarn between now and when I'm able to open Sundara Yarn Canada.
Answers to questions you may have...
How will this work?
Sundara Yarn Canada will be a separate website from Sundara Yarn, but the yarn that is offered through Sundara Yarn (USA) will also be offered to Sundara Yarn Canada.
Since I live and operate Sundara Yarn on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State, which happens to be a ferry ride away from Victoria, BC AND I have dual Canadian/US citizenship, I will "export" Sundara Yarn from the US to Canada for you to purchase in Canada.
Canadian Sundara Yarn you purchase will be mailed from Victoria, BC every 2-3 weeks. I realize this is a bit of a wait, but yarn won't have to go through customs and you'll save a lot of money on shipping costs.
As for Daily Dreams, I'll send out one daily email, but there will be the option to purchase in the US and a separate option to purchase in Canada.
What will the prices be?
Because all my yarn and dyeing costs are in US dollars, I will need to convert the prices of yarn to Canadian currency. Because the exchange rate is variable, you may sometimes see the price of Sundara Yarn rising or falling a bit, based on what the exchange rate is. But you'll be able to buy the yarn in Canada with Canadian dollars and I'll be paying Canadian taxes as a Canadian small business and citizen/resident.
What's the wait?
I'm waiting on my Canadian citizenship certificate which is currently in process. I am blessed to have a Canadian father, which gives me Canadian citizenship.
One final note: if you are a international customer not in the US or Canada, but it would be cheaper for you to purchase and have Sundara Yarn shipped from Canada rather than the US, please feel free to join me at Sundara Yarn Canada.
